Merriam-webster.com defines self harm as “the act of purposely hurting oneself as an emotional coping mechanism”. There are minor and major types of self harm and we must try to be aware of those around us, who might be doing this or trying to do this. Being positive, giving advice, and asking for help are all major ways to help yourself and others overcome the temptation of self harm.
