Merriam-webster.com defines comparison as “the representing of one thing or person as similar to or like another”. In the world today with social media, there are many instances where teenagers are inclined to compare themselves to others to make sure they look a certain way. While following trends in fashion, makeup, and humor may be fun, it comes to a point where too much comparison is damaging to one’s self confidence. Taking a trait about yourself and comparing it to the same trait of someone else can lead to an unaccepting attitude towards yourself. Comparisons are not bad, depending on the ways you do it.
